MY ONLINE GROUPS ARE FOR THERAPISTS AND HEALTH & SOCIAL CARE PROFESSIONALS TUESDAYS 07.30 - 09.00 GMT WEDNESDAYS 18.00 - 19.30 GMT THE GROUP THERAPY I OFFER IS GROUP ANALYTIC PSYCHOTHERAPY Why group? ?"In an individualizing, fast-moving, competitive world, group analysis challenges us to slow down, to sit and feel and think in the company of others. It often makes us confront questions of power, envy and inequality, as the group grapples with the injuries of living in an unjust world. It offers us the opportunity to explore what it means to belong, and to not-belong, and to develop new ways of being and relating. It can be a deeply moving and transformative experience, both for those who have previous experience of psychotherapy and counselling and those who are coming to therapy for the first time." (Prof. Sasha Roseneil) Why just for therapists and health & social care professionals? I am increasingly aware of the need for self compassion and the impact of moral injury. I also believe we are often constrained by our own shame and self-criticism and by the projections we elicit in others. Also, we know we “can use work - to stop feeling lonely, to feel clever, kind, creative, special and loved and cared for.” (Libby Nugent, @becomingethical) The group provides the container and the medium in which we can find both challenge and support, become more aware of the unconscious and allow ourselves to shift between, and explore new ways, of being in the world. https://www.grahammackaypsychotherapy.com/

I’m a group analyst and psychoanalytic psychotherapist (IGA, UKCP) based in Leeds, West Yorkshire - primarily working with minoritised and/or marginalised groups and individuals, in-person and online, across theNHS, charitable, and private sectors. I specialise in working with the impact of misogynoir; racialized trauma; trafficking for the purposes of commercial sexual exploitation; trauma/abuse in childhood; adult rape and sexual assault; and long-term disability. My practice draws upon trauma-informed, intersectional, and analytic principles and theory, and I’m interested in how our lived, learned and enforced experiences can un/consciously influence therapeutic work. My related work includes engaging with community activism, inter/national campaigns, and the research, development and delivery of training workshops and short courses for specialist services, individual clinicians, and people accessing mental health services. I provide organisational consultancy on issues relating to marginalisation and mental health; and enjoy writing about how power, privilege, and position can impact our personal and psychosocial wellbeing.

As a Psychotherapist, Psychologist and Group Analyst, I am dedicated to helping individuals explore their inner worlds and navigate complex emotional landscapes. With over 15 years of experience, I focus on understanding how your past influences your present, enabling deeper self-awareness and personal growth. My approach is rooted in psychodynamic principles, which emphasise the exploration of unconscious processes and early relational experiences. I believe that understanding the dynamics of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours can lead to profound insights and lasting change. Together, we’ll create a safe space to uncover underlying patterns and work through unresolved conflicts, fostering a deeper connection to your authentic self. In our sessions, you can expect a warm, supportive environment where you can freely express your thoughts and emotions. I work with individuals on line and teams as a clinical supervisor. I offer therapy in English, Slovenian and languages of former Yugoslavia – Croatian, Bosnian and Serbian.
